Few names are as closely tied to American decorative arts as Henry Francis du Pont. Raised at Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library, he developed a lifelong passion for art, design, and horticulture, ultimately shaping the estate into a renowned museum and garden with an extensive collection of decorative objects and landscapes.
Winterhouse was created for du Pont’s private winter residence and commissioned by Ellen Hanson Designs and Pansy Bayou Design Studio. The design reflects his appreciation for art, nature, and thoughtful craftsmanship.
