Inspired by intrepid botanist Ynes Mexia, whose passion for environmentalism blossomed at the age of 50 and who devoted the final years of her life to conservation efforts across the Americas. Her wide-ranging fieldwork produced a catalog of thousands of rare plants from Argentina to Alaska, while her relentless advocacy for preserving the redwoods contributed to the early national park movement and the founding of The Sierra Club.
